With the release of MX2004 the Help panel is no longer XML based, which makes the CAEditor more or less absolete.
It can still be used to create entries for the Actions panel Toolbox (the left side of the Actions Panel).
However, in it's current state the CAEditor is not optimized for that..
I'm currently thinking about reworking the tool for just that.

Jesse Warden has used the CustomActions Editor to transform the FlashComm Server Management ActionScript Dictionary into HTML format and Reference Panel documentation (.mxp).

While making progress on the Custom Actions Editor, a few people already tried it out and from what I understand it has already been used to produce documentation for the soon to be released B-Line Charting components.
- added an option to switch between "Edit" and "View" mode. The view mode allows you to actually see what the documentation will look like in the Flash reference panel.
- improved HTML output.
- improved Reference Panel XML output.
An alpha version will be available for download as soon as I come up with a decent License Agreement. In the meantime, if you want to give the application a spin, contact me. |

Started working on this site and put up some screenshots of the Custom Actions Editor.
